Newly Released Greedy Words Fills Void for Word Game Addicts

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif (July 13, 2011) - Given that the App Store is filled with everything you can think of and many things you never would care to, the lack of free Words With Friends™/Scrabble™ style single player games is especially irritating to word game addicts. One such addict, independent developer Arlo Randall, took his irritation to the extreme and developed a new app, Greedy Words, to fill the void. Greedy Words is a recently released single player word game app for the iPhone (iPad compatible) that offers players addicted to games like Words With Friends and Scrabble a new way to satisfy their appetites for word games when their friends don't meet the demand.

The developers of Words With Friends made the conscious decision not to include a single player mode in either the free or pay version as it would go against their core concept of a social game and it is difficult to argue with the decision considering their success; however, the most addicted players want a single player alternative while waiting for their friends to play. The free version of Scrabble has no single player mode, but it is one of the additional features in the pay ($2.99) version. There are other similar style pay apps that offer single player modes, but Greedy Words is the first free app in the category.

Game.

Greedy Words is a single player word board game App for the iPhone where your opponent, Greedy, is all offense and no defense. He always plays the highest scoring word with no regard for defense. Since you can't surpass his vocabulary you have to rely on your superior strategy in order to win.

Compete Against Everyone

Greedy Words utilizes the Game Center to let you compare your game scores, round scores, and win totals with your friends as well as players from around the world.

Improve Your Skills

Playing Greedy Words you will learn and remember new words in the context of the game since Greedy, unlike a human player, is just as likely to play an obscure word as a commonly known word.

Greedy always plays the highest scoring word possible, and you get to see the tiles before the play. This will help you spot new ways to maximize your scoring.
